Steven Stamkos posted his fourth career hat trick and Vincent Lecavalier scored at 4:06 in overtime as the host Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-4 on Friday night.
Stamkos had three goals in a wild second period in which each team scoring four times. Stamkos’ final goal, a left circle power-play shot with 32.2 seconds remaining in the second, tied it 4-4.
Lecavalier scored the winner on the low slot off a pass from Martin St. Louis, who finished with three assists. Brett Connolly also scored for the Lightning, who have won four consecutive home games.
Patrick Sharp scored twice for the Blackhawks. Marian Hossa and Daniel Carcillo also scored.
